Person Specification
This role will interest someone that likes to be in a creative environment, but also wishes to develop business and marketing experience.
It will suit people that are motivated to win new business, and work with customers to make sure their orders run smoothly.
Organised and motivated individual who is good at working in a team but also using their own initiative. Knowledge or interest of textile production is desirable but not essential.

Background
Handmade Alliance is a social enterprise training prisoners and ex-offenders
to produce high quality hand-finished products for British designers. This includes giving training to prisoners in prison and on day-release, and providing work experience and employment for ex-offenders to dramatically improve their chance
to reintegrate successfully into society.
We are providing creative and vocational teaching/training as well as producing well-designed textile products.
As a social enterprise, we are involved in business activity- so our team gain experience of commercial issues and production/manufacturing processes.

Purpose of the Role
To be responsible for the daily administration of social media sites such as Facebook, Twitter and MailChimp.
To organise and manage events.
To bring in new sales, by visiting trade shows, by phone and email.
To also be the first point of contact for all existing and potential customers, working with the Production Coordinator on workflow for workshop and timeframes. Raising invoices and chasing payments.
Helping to co-ordinate rotas of volunteers and teachers, and working in pop-up retail settings.
