The job holder will be a member of the Group Information Risk Management Team responsible for implementing Information Risk Management across the company. The overall purpose of the role is to drive robust information risk management practices. The individual holding this job role must be capable of managing and performing in many of the group-level IRM processes and at any one time will be assigned to leading multiple of process activities. Therefore the individual should look forward to a mix of accountabilities as follows.
Organizing and coordinating the IRM SME team of individuals. Aligning the individuals goals and objectives to the department goals and objectives.
Develop quality resources by hiring talent and developing skills within the existing team through coaching guidance and training.
Research and share best practice via industry forums and benchmarking.
Identify and act upon future regulatory demands through engagement with industry forums and study.
Act as a role model for the IRM team ensuring appropriate development, growth and succession planning.
Information Risk Management Organization and Relationships 50%
Operate at a senior level working closely with the business, with a special focus on Technology Teams.
Build and maintain effective relationships between the IRM function and these teams.
Continuously develop IRM SME capability in line with needs and expectations.
Provide leadership and training to increase the skills maturity of the IRM function.
Support and deliver to the companys governance structures, track IRM issues as appropriate, and be the point for escalation.
Identify and assess key IRM risks and provide executive accountability for significant issues, audit observations and other matters arising.

What we're looking for
Information Risk Management Expertise Solutions Evaluation and Risk Assessment
Undertake evaluation and assessment of technology and business initiatives for all aspects of information risk, providing guidance and recommendations on control requirements in accordance with policy, standards and risk appetite. This will include evaluation of technical aspects of solutions design, architecture, configuration and implementation, as well as business operations and processes.
Ensure adequate monitoring capability is incorporated into solutions in order to provide information risk metrics and key risk indicators. This may include designing systems of metrics to provide additional monitoring insight
Use risk management principles to ensure the confidentiality, integrity and availability of information is safeguarded in accordance with the banks operating model and risk appetite.
Monitor compliance with policy and standards and drive the closure of gaps.
Communicate risk and control requirements, and approve exceptions.
Issues Management
Identify and assess key IRM risks arising from significant events, audit observations, investigations and control issues.
Undertake planning and execution of remediation activity, working with relevant Group and BU teams as appropriate to ensure successful and timely completion of agreed actions.
Third Parties
Work with Global Sourcing and the Beam Standards, providing Group level SME advice and guidance as required.
Perform/support regular IRM reviews on third parties as required, to ensure continued alignment to IRM Policies.
Ensure risk is mitigated in accordance with policy and governance, and that regular reviews of risk are provided.
While performing these accountabilities, the individual must maintain regular liaison with senior management and maintain a network of industry contacts. In addition, they are accountable for following Group policy and processes in relation to HR and performance management, finance and expense management, regulatory and compliance duties.
