3rd Line Support Manager, System support and maintenance, telecoms


The purpose of the role is to ensure that the IT Business Systems continues to deliver the service required and that we are aligned with industry best practice whilst meeting security and business continuity requirements.

* IT systems support, maintenance and deployment
* Security and compliance awareness
* Knowledge of industry best practice and standards
* In depth knowledge and troubleshooting ability across complex enterprise application estates
* Time management, ability to understand the priorities of the business and department

* Can work well alone or as part of a team
* Willingness to learn about new technologies or methods

Role description;

* Management of the production and development systemsn estate (including documentation). Ensuring that Systems are fit for purpose and aligned with business continuity requirements for availability, security and resilience
* Reporting and meeting against KPIs for systems availability and putting measures in place to ensure these are met
* Management of the 3rd Line Support Team and coordinating release activities of the System Development work streams


* Improve the operational systems, processes and policies in support of organizations mission; specifically support better management reporting, information flow and management, business process and organizational planning.
* Manage and increase the effectiveness and efficiency of Support Services, through improvements to Systems function as well as coordination and communication between support and business functions.
* Play a significant role in long-term planning, including an initiative geared toward operational excellence.

* Define and implement the business processes required to run 3rd/ 4th line support across the Systems estate.
* Manage and coordinate the work of the 3rd Line support team. Conforming to Operational Level Agreements.
* Contribute to short and long-term organizational planning and strategy.
Oversee new releases and system upgrades into the production environment
* Communicating and updating a set of operational systems requirement to engineering and development teams

Desirable Skills

* ITIL experience or qualification and background in telecoms. Applications support experience of billing & CRM systems.
