Our client, a national charity that provides free legal advice for disabled and Deaf people, is looking for an experienced Legal Admin Assistant to work from their accessible offices in Whitechapel, East London.

The role is to provide support in the administration of work relating to Legal Services funding and providing administrative support to the Social Welfare team, including opening and closing files, lodging of court documents, inputting data on the case management system and note taking. Additionally you will be responsible for casework file administration, including research.

The role is offered at 17.5hrs per week and is for 6 months, and may be extended due to funding.

To apply for this role you must be able to evidence:
* Knowledge of the law
* Confidence with figures, spreadsheets and the drafting of complex reports
* The ability to work in a busy and pressurised environment delivering to tight deadlines
* Be a team player, and excel at individual work
* Have competent communication skills, with the ability to write concise and accurate letters and reports
* Have knowledge and experience in the use of information technology, specifically Microsoft Office
* An understanding of equal opportunities
* An appreciation of the needs of all disabled people
Additionally your application will be more likely to succeed if you have:
* Proven ability to use databases and Case Management Systems to record and extract client and case information including producing statistical reports
* Knowledge and experience of Legal Service Commission case reporting and billing procedures
* Knowledge of LSC rules and procedures in relation to client eligibility for Legal Help and funding applications for Certificated work
* Relevant experience working and/or volunteering in an advice agency, a legal practice, or similar environment
* Ability to work with the public and with officials from statutory and non-statutory agencies
* Understanding of the legal process and skills required to deliver an effective service to specified standards.
