Position: Business Development Manager
Location: London
Salary: From £32,756 to £41,526 per annum ( 8% bonus after qualifying period)

The Business Development Manager / Partnership Manager will ensure the delivery of Corporate Strategy requirements, undertaking a range of projects as directed by the Head of Development, managing the strategic requirements of our clients partnerships.

Completing research projects on all aspects of leisure and business (trends, participation, facilities and services), completing bid applications for new partnerships and external funding projects, partnership management.
Funding management, assisting Head of Development with key project work.

a) Responsible for delivering an effective and efficient Development and Partnership Service for GLL; Includes Corporate Strategy, research, bidding, monitoring and report writing.
b) Deliver the key development requirements of the Corporate Plan, to complete in depth research projects as requested by the Head of Development, to research and devise strategies and policies to assist in the continuous development and strategic planning of GLL.
c) Prepare and manage the bid process for potential new leisure partnerships, to research and submit bids relating to lottery funds, partnership and regeneration funds and to assist in the management of their implementation, to communicate and update Senior Management Group on the progress of funding bids.
d) Work with our key clients to ensure that an effective and efficient service is being delivered, to collate and present information required for client / partnership monitoring purposes, to attend, minute and chair meetings as required for monitoring purposes.
e) Produce business and project reports as required by the Head of Development, to provide reports for our partners as directed, to provide business and project reports to the Senior Management Group and Management Board as directed.
f) Deliver projects relating to the achievement of the Corporate Plan, to deliver external consultancy projects as required, to assist with Board issues, including administratively, as required.
g) Research, develop and promote the social enterprise profile of GLL, develop products and services at a corporate level.
h) Keep abreast of trends and developments within the leisure industry, and discuss own training and development needs with the Deputy Head / Head of Development as appropriate.

a) Previous experience in the leisure and /or business industry.
b) Professional Qualifications, Leisure or Business related degree or equivalent, experience of research, project management, development issues.
c) Proven ability to effectively manage complex projects.
d) Ability to analyse complex business issues and prepare business plans, the ability to research, prepare, justify and present project reports.
e) Able to persuade and influence at all levels, both internally and externally, the ability to produce results to demanding deadlines and work on a number of key issues simultaneously.
f) Excellent written and verbal communication skills and IT literate, the capability to contribute to the wider strategic development of the organisation.
g) Thorough knowledge of leisure operations, programming and financial management.
h) Knowledge of key performance indicators and their application and how they can be used to effect improvement, up to date knowledge of developments in the leisure industry and in relation to healthy lifestyles.
i) Knowledge of Health and Safety legislation and other legislation in relation to leisure operations.
j) Able to work unsociable hours, including evening and weekend work.
