The Security Guard will ensure the safety and security of all hotel, staff, contractors and visitors, their belongings and all hotel assets at all times reacting proactively and help to facilitate an environment that is safe and secure.


To operate primarily at the staff entrance and exit point and maintain records to a standard acceptable to the rules of evidence ensuring that all records of all events, incidents and actions are reported in a clear, legible and accurate written format.
Duties will include patrolling the staff working areas on all floors in the pursuance of criminal and or unlawful activity, ensuring that the staff entrance procedures are maintained at all times and that all staff produce and identification card on entry and exit from the premises and all bags are searched at all times. When instructed, conduct locker searches using the appropriate gender. No officer will conduct full or partial body searches at any time.
Report any significant security breaches to the department management and help in any investigations as required. Maintain confidentiality at all times and ensure that any information passed to you by any party is treated with the strictest of confidentiality and is passed to the security management in the first instance.

Ensure the security of all items left in your control, such as items of personal property, and ensure that all operating procedures are followed at all times.

Conduct yourself in a professional and respectful manner at all times when dealing with visitors, staff and colleagues maintaining professional relationships that will not compromise the integrity of your profession and position.

To ensure that appropriate steps are taken to create a pro-security culture within the hotel by reflection or your own personal conduct and ensure that you remain pro-active in your attitude towards your duties. In staff areas you are an ambassador of the hotel and will act in a manner that is both polite and professional in any situation, including times when you may be required to remove person(s) from the premises, inappropriate force must not be used at any time.

To ensure that you embrace and attend all scheduled training for your development and that you record all such training and development on the training record provided.

Assist in any emergency and evacuation procedures in line with the hotel emergency and business continuity plans. Provide any first aid assistance required within the hotel (once trained to do so) as and when required to do so.

You may be requested to carry out other duties during your shift pattern in line with the diverse and fluid nature of the hotel business.

Confident in assisting in any fire or other emergency situation

Previous security experience
Passion for the hospitality industry
Ability to work flexible hours including evenings and weekends
Is passionate about exceeding expectations
Able to work in a fast paced working environment and remain calm under pressure
Possess a good command of English and has excellent communication skills (written and verbal)
Previous experience in a high volume security environment
Experience working unsocial hours
Excellent interpersonal, communication and presentation skills are required;
